LARRS – Lakeshore Avian and Reptile Rescue and Sanctuary, Inc. was officially established as a federally recognized 501c(3) Non-Profit in March of 2015. LARRS Founder and CEO, Heather, has years of experience rescuing and caring for birds and reptiles of all kinds. It is because of her passion for helping birds and reptiles in need that LARRS became a reality.

Rescue and Sanctuary
We rescue birds and reptiles throughout Wisconsin whose owners cannot, for one reason or another, keep their pet anymore. We take transfers from shelters and Humane Societies who are not equipped to care for these types of animals. In addition, we help with birds or reptiles who have been abandoned by their previous owners. There are some circumstances where a bird or reptile may not be able to be adopted to another family for one reason or another in which case we provide sanctuary to these animals.
Adoption
Whenever possible, we rehome the birds and reptiles we take in by putting them up for adoption. We have an application process by which we screen potential adopters to make every effort to provide these animals with their forever home. We have successfully placed hundreds of animals in happy forever homes.
