Meet Our Adoptable Animals!
All of our adoptable animals have received basic wellness exams. Additional veterinary wellness is done on a case-by-case basis. Additionally, all animals have received diet modification to ensure they are eating the very best, training to ensure that they are as ready as they can be for their new forever homes, and lots of love from the LARRS staff during their stay.

*** Please note that we do not ship any of our animals! While we do not have any radius restrictions for our adopters, we do ask that you make arrangements to come to the rescue, if your application is approved, and that you complete the adoption paperwork and provide reasonable accommodations to get your animal back safely to your home.

The Regents
The Regents are Regent Parrots, otherwise known as Rock Pebblers. They are native to Australia, but we were told they were born in captivity. They are not hand-tame, but not aggressive birds. They talk to each other with a soothing little warble. They need a home where they have space to fly around and get exercise and a very large flight cage. They are eaing Roudybush pellets and chop. They are curious, but hands off at this time. Proper diet and training may lead to some level of taming in these little sweethearts, but you should not expect to have a cuddly pair of birds. They must come as a pair as they are very bonded. Want to give these guys a loving forever home?

Mango
Mango is an un-sexed Lovebird looking for his/her forever home. This bird has a Napoleon personality and is very independent, but will step up on sleeves for a treat. Trust is a must to earn with this bird! Mango is eating Roudybush pellets and bird chop. Kalua
Kalua is an un-sexed, approximately 22 year oldBlue Front Amazon. Kalua is very sweet and seems to prefer most women over men. Kalua is blind, but gets around the cage just fine. Kalua will be coming with a cage for the adoption as that has been this bird's home and Kalua knows where everything is located. Kalua came to the rescue underweight from owners who were distraught and did not feel they were giving Kalua enough. Kalua knows how to say, "Hi Kalua!" as well as laughs quite often. Kalua eats very well and is on a diet of Roudybush pellets and bird chop with treats of nutriberries once a week. Kalua will require regular supervised baths in your bathtub of shower as Kalua has some problems cleaning his/her bum, but Kalua LOVES shower time! New owners should be prepared to provide regular veterinary care and lots of love, but also understand that Kalua uses his/her beak to feel around in the world and for support since Kalua is blind. Will you give Kalua a chance at loving home?

Kiwi
Kiwi is a male Indian Ringneck looking for his forever home. He's got a big personality and definitely has his own opinions about where he wants to be. He does love to fly and this should be encouraged in his new home. While he currently doesn't like stepping up onto hands and arms, he will step up on shoulders with motivation. This bird will be easily trainable in his new home provided you put in the work. He's not much of a talker, but loves to make the little ringneck warbles and squeaks. Kiwi is eating Roudybush pellets and bird chop. Bird chop is Kiwi's favorite meal and a MUST in his new home. If you're willing to give this special guy a chance...

Rae Rae
Rae Rae is a Sulfur Crested Cockatoo looking for her forever home. We do not have an age on Rae Rae as she has now been in at least 5 homes of which we are aware. She's one of the biggest sweethearts at the rescue and greets everyone by saying "hi". She also says "Hi Rae," "Hi Rae Rae," and loves to make the Mr. Magoo whistle. Rae Rae would love for mothing more than to find her special person, but please be aware that as a cockatoo, you need to have a healthy balance of together time and time for independent play. Rae Rae became too attached to her person in her previous home and started attacking other family members, so full home involvement is a must to build trust with everyone. Rae Rae is also disabled with a foot injury of unknown causes. That does not stop her from getting around and she has adapted well to her new lifestyle. She should, however, be kept in a cage with perches no more than 12 inches from the bottom of the cage to prevent injury if she falls. If you're willing to give Rae Rae all the love she deserves, submit an application.

Sam
Sam is an approximately 35 year old umbrella cockatoo looking for his forever home. He certainly likes the world to revolve around him. He does have subtle cues, so experience with cockatoos is a must for his new home. He is a destructor, so he does need a GREAT amount of toys to shred and forage. He has recent barbering issues that can easily be fixed in a stable home environment. He asks for scritchies on the regular. He knows how to say "hi" and "Hi Sam" as well as "good bird" and a handful of other phrases. Sam is eating Roudybush pellets and bird chop. He needs someone with patience who will earn his trust. If this sounds like you, please give Sam a chance.

Tango
Tango is an un-sexed Green Wing Macaw believed to be female. Based on the birds surrendered from the same home, we believe Tango to be approximately 30 years old. Tango has seen much in her life including the heartbreak of losing her owner. She went through a rough patch before being surrendered to the rescue and started feather plucking. She is letting some feathers grow back, but it's a slow process for her. Tango is eating Roudybush pellets and bird chop and loves walnuts as a treat or training reward. Tango has a medical history with the rescue. Bloodwork is negative for psitticosis and heavy metal toxicity. Tango does have a hernia which has been slowly shrinking since her time at the rescue (the veterinarian did not think surgery was warranted due to the risk and the fact that the hernia is very small and doesn't seem to be causing pain or impeding quality of life). Tango did have surgery to remove a sarcoma from the end of one of her toes. She does like to hum her own little songs in the evening. Tango is a great bird looking for her forever home.
